We are more concerned with peoples' appearance than their hearts; with their prestige, than their souls. Scripture tells us that: "our righteousness is as filthy rags". Romans 3:10 says, "There is none who are good, no not one". God owes us no favors, yet we cannot repay His grace and mercy. good point. we start from feeling miserable about ourselves all the time, and then we learn what God has made us ("seated with Christ in the heavenlies" Eph. 2:6). before long, we forget that GOD has made us successful, and we start to think of ourselves as sufficient. then it's only a matter of time before the world we think we've made begins to cave in (Deuteronomy 8:17-20).
